FarmUnits is a UK marketplace for rural business space. Farmers and landowners list storage, workshops, offices, barns and yards. Businesses and individuals search for space near them and speak to the owner directly. There's no letting agent in the middle and no commission on rent.
For farmers and landowners
- Create a free account and add a profile for your farm or site. You can add more than one.
- Add a listing for each unit: title, type of space, size, rent, facilities, suitable uses, restrictions and up to ten photographs. Save it as a draft and finish it whenever you like.
- Submit it for review. We check the advert before it goes live and may ask you to clarify something.
- Share your listing. Each approved unit gets its own page that you can share on social media, by email or on a sign at the gate.
- Answer enquiries in your dashboard. You'll get an email when someone gets in touch, and you can arrange viewings directly.
- Keep it current. Confirm availability, pause the listing when you need to, and mark it as let when it's taken.
Before you list, read how to rent out an unused farm building and our listing checklist.
For businesses looking for space
- Search by postcode, town or county, and choose the type of space you need.
- Filter by distance, size, rent and facilities such as three-phase power, HGV access or 24-hour access.
- Compare the details on each listing: size, costs, access, suitable uses and restrictions.
- Create a free account to save units, set up alerts and send enquiries.
- Contact the owner to explain what you plan to do and arrange a viewing.
- Agree terms directly with the owner once you're happy the space suits you.
Our guide for small businesses renting a farm unit and viewing checklist will help.
If there are no units near you yet
We are welcoming our first listings. Save a search alert with your location, budget and the space you need. Confirm your email, and we'll let you know when a matching unit is listed.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to list a unit?
If you have photographs, measurements and the rent ready, you can usually create a listing in one sitting. Otherwise, save a draft and finish it later.
Do I have to deal with lots of enquiries?
You control your listing. Clear details reduce unsuitable enquiries, and you can pause a listing at any time.
Can tenants contact me without an account?
No. Tenants need a verified account to send an enquiry, which reduces spam and gives you a conversation history in one place.
